When ready to publish your entry to your weblog, click the "Publish" toolbar icon or choose the Draft → Publish menu command. ecto runs publishing tasks in the background, so you can immediatly start a new entry after Posting.
The chain of events after you post an entry is as follows:
- ecto first saves the currently edited entry as a draft. If the current edit has been posted before, the corresponding item in the Entries and Drafts list is updated instead.
- Data of the enty is sent to your weblog server and published (or posted as a draft).
- Once posting is successful, ecto retrieves the final entry that is created by your weblog system and adds it to the Entries and Drafts list. Optionally, the saved draft is deleted.
- If so configured, notification emails are sent.
