Here's an Automator action for Safari that gives you the selected text of the frontmost webpage. Download “Get Selected Text.action.zip” (only 7.6Kb), unpack, and install it in ~/Library/Automator/. This action will come in handy for ecto's Automator actions, which I'm about to release as part of ecto 2.3.2.
