ecto 2.1 for MacOSX
Ho ho ho, a bit early for Christmas maybe, but it's never too early for a new version of ecto. Here's 2.1, an official (that is, not a latest build) release, including a bunch of new features and improvements. So you know we're always working on the most powerful blog client that is also quite cheap (free upgrades, too). So, what's new?
- Amazon! I blogged about this earlier.
- Better interapp operability with 1001 (see blog entries here and there). If you are using a blog system that does not support file uploads, then this is a great alternative. You can upload images to Flickr, then insert them into ecto entries.
- Even better link construction and management, including emails and online images. The commands for these are under the Edit→Create Link menu item and also in the Contextual Menu.
- A bunch of other minor stuff (it's all in the details), specified in the History file.
And, btw, ecto for Windows version 1.5 is now in beta test phase. Alex is working hard on getting it on par with the MacOSX version.
