Blogger has updated their Atom API code to fix some issues. I had many fruitful email discussions with Steve Jenson, the main developer for Blogger's Atom implementation, and he's been very helpful and quick. Here's the main issues that were fixed:
- Several encoding fixes. All text should now be properly UTF8 encoded. Encoding of characters in edited entries are now also preserved. Previously, an edit of an entry would return bad characters. This is good news for users who blog in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and so forth.
- Posting an edited entry with a changed datestamp will correctly change the date. Also, this fixes an issue where edited entries would appear with a datestamp set to current.
If you use Atom API with Blogger, you would still need to follow these directions, though.
